Known to locals as 'Dumby', this is lowland Scotland's premier rock-climbing venue, with easy access from Glasgow. Dumbarton Rock has a reputation for hard and technical climbing, and is home to famous routes such as Chemin de Fer, Requiem and Rhapsody.

There is also a collection of giant boulders at Dumbarton, which offer over 300 documented problems across a wide range of grades. These range from easy to Fb8’s, with problems such as Pongo, Sabotage, Pressure, Sanction and Gutbuster being amongst Scotland's world-class bouldering test pieces. Detailed are 4 Fontainebleau style bouldering circuits, ranging in difficulty from orange, then blue, red, and then black being the hardest circuit.

The guidebook covers 100+ trad and sport routes, plus 300+ boulder problems. All routes and boulder problems are shown on colour photo topos along with a description.
