Tre Cime Rock Climbing Guidebook: Classic & Modern Routes
Description
This is the comprehensive guidebook covering the traditional and bolted routes on the famous spires of Tre Cime or The Three Towers of Lavaredo. These 3 spires are amongst the most iconic of the Italian Dolomite peaks and in Cima Grande host one of the 6 classic north faces in the Alps.
The guidebook covers the following Peaks that are at an altitude up to 2998m: Cima Piccola, Punta Frida, Cima Piccolissima, Cima Grande, Cima Ovest, Torre Comici, Sasso di Landro, Torre Lavaredo, Croda di Mezzo, Croda del Refugio, and Il Mulo. This guidebook describes over 100 routes on both the north and south faces with routes up to 550m long. Included are all the classic routes, such as Didona Arete, Comici-Dimai and Hasse-Brandler on Cime Grande, plus the old aid routes, some of which have now been climbed free.
All the routes are illustrated using a mixture of colour photo-topos and traditional hand-drawn topos along with comprehensive descriptions and descent information. At the start of the guidebook there is information on huts, access to the area, and a historical section.
