Description
This is a selective guidebook describing the sport climbing at Montgrony and other crags near Ripoll and Berga in northern Catalunya, around 100km north of Barcelona. Montgrony is the stand out crag in this area, and is famous for its overhanging walls of tufas. There are also some multi-pitch routes at Coll Roig up to 150m long. In total the guidebook describes over 500 sport routes across a wide range of grades though the majority of the routes are between F6a and F8a.
The guidebook covers 10 crags near Ripoll and Berga, which are Montgrony, Ogassa, Corones, Clot de I'Espasa, Gombren, Coll Roig, Coll de Merolla, Roc de la Lluna, Malanyeu, and Riugreixer.
The guidebook covers over 500 routes that are all shown on colour photo topos. At the start of each crag there is detailed access information, a location map, along with a description of the style of climbing to be found. Symbols are then used for each sector to indicate the steepness and style of climbing, along with a grade range and the walking distance from the car park.
