Crag Climbs in Chamonix Guidebook
Description
This guidebook describes 37 separate climbing areas including 4 bouldering areas in Chamonix Valley. Included are crags from the village of Le Fayet, west of Chamonix, to crags on the border with Switzerland, including the Aiguilles Rouge. The guidebook describes a mixture of single and multi-pitch routes across a good grade range, at various altitudes from a few hundred metres to over 2000m.
For each crag there is a good description giving a general overview of the rock climbing area such as the altitude, access, when in the sun, along with the type of rock climbing to be found there. All the routes are illustrated on a combination of colour photo topos and colour topos diagrams, with French sport grades used throughout.
The crags covered in this guidebook include Le Fayet (lower, upper and the Thermes), Servoz, La Pare, Le Labo, Les Chavants, Coupeau, Roc Dement, Roc des Os, Les Bossons, Les Gaillands, Le Brevent, La Soulir, La Flegere, Le Montenvers, Les Mottets, La Pierre d’Orthaz, Les Dalles de l’Arveyron, Le Chapeau, La Joux, La Chauffria monolith, Moraine d’Argentiere, L’Aiguillette d’Argentiere, Les Cheserys, Le Chenavier, Le Col des Montets (Argentiere side), Le Col des Montets (Vallorcine side), Vallorcine, Vallon de Berard, Le Passet (wall, lower and upper), Mur du Loup, Barberine and Gietroz.
