Camonica Valley Rock Climbing Guidebook
Description
This is a comprehensive guidebook covering the sport climbing, rock climbing and bouldering in the Camonica Valley (also known as Valle Camonica or Valcamonica). This valley extends for over 100km and includes the towns of Darfo, Boario Terme, Bienno, Breno and Capo di Ponte in the Central Italian Alps.
The guidebook covers 35 sport climbing areas, 3 bouldering areas and 2 long multi-pitch rock climbing areas with routes over 200m long. It describes 1,000’s of routes across a wide range of grades from F4’s to F9a, with over 100 routes graded above F8a. The majority of the crags are limestone, though there are also granite and red sandstone rock to explore.
All the routes are shown on colour photo topos, with the long multi-pitch routes also shown on hand-drawn topos. For each area there is an approach map and access information, along with GPS co-ordinates for the parking areas. Symbols show approach time from the car, altitude, how child friendly the crag is, and the orientation of the crag.
