Description

This guidebook describes a selection of the very best Alpine multi-pitch rock climbing in 5 separate areas to the east of Saltzburg, Wolfgangsee to Dachsteinmassiv. Generally these routes are protected with bolts and pegs though additional trad gear such as nuts and cams are also required. Many of these routes are between 200m and 400m long, mainly on limestone rock. UIAA grades are used throughout the guidebook, with many routes graded from 4 to 7+ (F4 to F6b).

The 5 rock climbing areas covered in the Best of Salzburger Land Band 1 are:
1) Tennengebirge (Tennen Mountains)
2) Osterhorngruppe (Osterhorn Group)
3) Salzkammergutberge
4) Gosaukamm
5) Dachstein-West (western part of the Dachstein massif)

Each route is shown on a clear colour topo, showing each pitch length and grade. In table form additional information regarding approach time, orientation, route length, approximate climbing time, how good the bolting is, what additional trad gear is required. For each climbing area there is a good location map.

Published in 2019 this guidebook is in German text throughout but a large amount of information is conveyed by symbols, and on the topos. Also included is a 102-page eBook with 43 other routes (unique download code provided on the rear cover flap).
