Northern Mallorca is much quieter than the south of the island where the main tourist areas are. Situated between Soller and Inca are the highest mountains in Mallorca, where there are many picturesque crags.

Caimari (this was called Les Perxes) is the largest crag in the area. There are 4 varied sectors; a steep cave for hard shady routes; and 3 other sectors with good easier routes and afternoon sun.  Alaro is in the centre of the island and has 3 great sectors that host many classic routes.

The dramatic headland of Formentor near Pollenca provides a number of good crags including the popular crag of La Creveta that is situated in a stunning location. There is a popular slab and some vertical walls offering plenty of routes in the mid-grades.

The above information has been extracted from the current edition of the Rockfax Mallorca Sport Climbing Guidebook. This guidebook describes 31 sports climbing areas in Mallorca, describing over 1,500 routes across a wide range of grades. The deep water soloing is covered in a separate guidebook, called Mallorca Deep Water Soloing.
