Rock climbing around Celje in eastern Slovenia
Around Celje and Trbovlje in eastern Slovenia there are many excellent sport climbing crags on solid limestone rock. However the 2 crags that stand out from all the others are undoubtedly Kotecnik and Creta. Between them there are over 550 sport routes on well bolted, limestone rock, with routes of all grades to cater for both beginner and expert climber alike. Both crags are situated in forests quite high up in the hills, making a great choice for climbing in the heat of the summer. Other significant crags close to Celje include Pod Reško planino and Kamnik with over 60 routes each.
