New Granada sport climbing guidebook

Granada nestles in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Southern Spain and offers some excellent winter sun sport climbing.  Here there are no crowds, just thousands of unpolished, world-class quality sport routes on quiet and remote crags.  The style of climbing is on good quality limestone rock with plenty of crimps, technical faces, and overhanging walls.  The majority of the routes are single pitch, although a lot of crags do have multi-pitch routes as well, often located in beautiful surroundings.

A new Granada sport climbing guidebook has just been published that covers 16 crags around Granada and well over 2,600 routes across a wide range of grades (F4’s to F8’s).  It includes the significant crags of Los Cahorros and Los Vados to the south, along with Alfacar, Cogollos and Moclin to the north of Granada.  All of these crags are easily accessible from the city of Granada, with the best time to climb being from the autumn through to the spring.
