Description

This guidebook describes the West Highland Way in Scotland that is 96 miles (154 km) long. The West Highland Way remains the most famous, of Scotland’s Great Trails, starting from the outskirts of Glasgow and finishing in Fort William at the foot of Ben Nevis. The route passes along the shores of the beautiful Loch Lomond, and across the wilds of Rannoch Moor. The guidebook describes the route from Milngavie northward, and includes and the final “extra mile” into Fort William.

This guidebook splits the entire route into logical stages, with a summary of each stage showing distance, terrain and suitable available accommodation and refreshments, along with a description. The entire West Highland Way is shown on maps at a scale of 1:42,500 across 15 pages.

This 5th Edition (fully updasted) of this guidebook was published by Rucksack Readers in March 2020 and is printed on rain proof paper throughout. It provides all the practical information required to walk the West Highland Way, including transport and travel information, and is lavishly illustrated with 120 colour photos.
