Description

This guidebook describes 58 mountain walks and short treks in the Julian Alps of Slovenia, including its Triglav, Slovenia’s highest mountain. These walks are split into 5 areas within the Julian Alps, which are Kranjska Gora, Bovec, Kobarid, Bled and Bohinj. All of these areas have a good range of accommodation and public transport facilities.

This guidebook describes 58 walks showcasing the best of the Julian Alps, and has something for everyone. This ranges from easy valley walks and rougher forest trails to high-mountain routes, some of which require Alpine mountaineering experience and Via Ferrata equipment.

For each walking route there is a short introduction giving the highlights and “feel” of the route, a detailed description (over several pages), and sketch map showing the outline of the route and key landmarks. All the walking routes are graded from 1 to 4, to indicate its length and difficulty.
