Description

This guidebook describes 40 mountain walks and short treks in the Julian Alps of Slovenia, including its Triglav, Slovenia’s highest mountain. These walks are split into 5 areas within the Julian Alps, which are Kranjska Gora, Bovec, Kobarid, Bled and Bohinj. All of these areas have a good range of accommodation and public transport facilities.

This guidebook describes 37 day walks and 3 multi-day treks showcasing the best of the Julian Alps, and has something for everyone. This ranges from easy valley walks and rougher forest trails to high-mountain routes, some of which require Alpine mountaineering experience and Via Ferrata equipment.

For each walking route there is a description along with a route map at a scale of 1:50,000, along with GPX files to download. All the walking routes are graded from 1 (easy) to 4 (serious), to indicate its length and difficulty.  Also included is detailed information on planning, facilities and public transport.
