This guidebook describes 35 walks exploring the Greek islands of Naxos, Paros, Amorgos and Santorini in the Cyclades. The walks will suit a wide of abilities, ranging from easy 4km town tours to 16km hikes visiting remote peaks in the wild interiors. Also included is the 50km Naxos Strada long distance walk that is described as 5 separate day walks.The best time to go walking in these Cyclade Islands are in the spring and autumn. Many of the walks follow traditional paved paths which have been used by locals for centuries exploring a wide range of countryside. This ranges from rugged mountains and working farmland to historic sites dating back to the height of Ancient Greece and impressive rural monasteries, as well as white sand bays and dramatic cliffs on the coast.
For each walk there is a detailed description along with a clear map from Anavasi. Additional information includes a wealth of insights into the history, geology and wildlife of the areas travelled through.
