Description

This walking guidebook covers 80 graded walks around the highlands of Perthshire between Stirling and the Cairngorms.  Included are the impressive mountains of Ben Lawers, Beinn Dorain, Ben Alder, Beinn a' Ghlo and Schiehallion.  Overall the guidebook details 42 Munros, 22 selected Corbetts, 15 smaller hills plus Gaick Pass and Minigaig Pass.  Perthshire has plenty to offer including the historic towns of Perth and Pitlochry, plus many attractive villages, making this is an ideal base for a walking holiday.

The 80 walks descibed in this guidebook comprise a mixture of low-level, mid-level and mountain routes and are graded by both length and difficulty. Many of them are demanding, crossing remote, uneven, steep and/or pathless terrain, but also included are gentler walks on clear paths taking in local features of interest.

Each walking route is fully described and illustrated with a clear map (a mixture of OS 1:50,000 and smaller-scale maps for the longer routes). There is a summary table and grading information making it easy to choose an appropriate route. Also included is a wealth of information about the landscape, the region's fascinating history, and appendices cover local facilities and access to the hills during the deer-stalking season.

Published by Cicerone Press in August 2021, this is the 2nd edition (fully revised) of this Ben Lawers, Rannoch and Atholl walking guidebook.
