Description

A comprehensive guidebook describing the sport climbing in the Aosta Valley (Valle D'Aosta) on well bolted gneiss rock.  It covers around 5,900 sport routes including many multi-pitch routes across 198 different crags.  These routes are spread across a good range of grades (F3’s to F8’s), with routes from 10m to over 350m long.

The Aosta Valley is situated in the northwest corner of the Italian Alps, on the opposite side of the Mont Blanc tunnel from Chamonix.  The guidebook describes all the climbing throughout this valley from Courmayeur to Aosta and onto Point Saint Martin.

All the routes are shown on colour topos, along with symbols describing the style of climbing to be found.  At the start of each crag there is a description of the style of climbing to be found, along with access information.  Symbols then indicate altitude, crag orientation, best time of the year to climb, quality of the parking, approach time, and if the crag is suitable for children.  There is also a table showing the number of roues in each grade band.

Published in 2026 (revised 3rd edition) this guidebook is in English and Italian text throughout and includes around 2,000 more routes than the previous edition.
