Description

This guidebook describes 10 major rock climbing areas in Turkey plus 1 area in northern Cyprus.

There are 7 areas in Western Turkey, which are; Ballikayalar that is between Istanbul and Izmit; Geyve near Sakarya; Golpazari near Bilecik; Pelitozu near Bilecik; Narlidere near Bursa; Oylat near Bursa; and Kaynaklar near Izmir.

There are a further 4 areas covered, Anavarza near Adana in Southern Turkey; Levent Vadisi near Malatya in Eastern Turkey; Kemaliye near Erzincan in Eastern Turkey; and Gargasuyu in Northern Cyprus.

The guidebook describes over 1,000 routes across a good range of grades from F4 to F8b+ on limestone rock. Generally the style of climbing is bolted sport routes with the vast majority being single pitch. However at Geyve there is a mixture of multi-pitch traditional routes as well as single pitch sport routes.

All the routes are illustrated on full colour photographs, topo style, with both French grades and UIAA grades, along with the route length and the number of bolts. At the start of each area there is a general description, a location map, detailed instructions on how to get to the crag, and the best time of the year to visit.
