Puglia Rock Climbing Guidebook

Description

This is a comprehensive guidebook by Versante Sud covering the sport climbing in the Puglia region of southern Italy. The guidebook details 15 different crags and hundreds of routes.  The largest crag is Statte with nearly 300 routes along with routes mainly in the F5c to F7c grade range.  Other significant crags include Palombaio, Olimpo e Valhalla, Pulo, and Porto Badisco.

All the routes are shown on clear colour topo diagrams, along with a brief description and the height of the route.  Each crag has a location map and QR codes for the parking areas.  Using symbols there is further information regarding altitude, exposure to the sun, how well it is bolted, how good the parking is, popularity, walking distance, if it is child friendly, and the general beauty of the crag.  There is also a table showing the total number of routes for each grade.

The guidebook also describes 8 deep water soloing (DWS) areas. However, only the general area is covered and no actual routes – it’s a case of go and explore!

Published in 2024 this guidebook is in Italian text throughout, but a large amount of information is conveyed by symbols.
