Description
This is a comprehensive guidebook (topo) to the most popular climbing areas in Namibia which are:
- Spitzkoppe and Pontoks.
- Erongo Mountains.
- Aussenkehr.
The magnificent and incomparable granite Great Spitzkoppe rises out of the surrounding desert like a golden pyramid, with its surrounding peaks, towers, buttresses and slabs. Pontok Spitze and its satellite peaks, Pontok 1, 2, 3, and 4 lie to the east. These mountains have been drawing climbers from around the world for over half a century to experience the unique multi-pitch climbing in this desert climbing paradise, and over recent years has become increasingly popular.
The Erongo Mountains offer single pitch sport routes, up to 30m high. Aussenkehr, on the banks of the Orange River, gives excellent sport climbing on dolerite rock.
All the routes (including the multi-pitch routes) are shown on the colour photo topos. The multi-pitch routes have descriptions for each pitch, and some have hand drawn topos as well. For each area there is approach information, along with some stunning overview photographs.
Published in 2025 this guidebook is in English text throughout, and includes many excellent action photographs.
