Marmolada rock climbing guidebook – South Face
Description
This guidebook describes 192 routes on Marmolada’s south face, the highest mountain in the Dolomites. This huge limestone wall is 3km wide with routes over 1,000m long. Most of the routes on Marmolada require Alpine experience as they are long and serious, with many of them between 300m and 800m in length.
The guidebook is split into 4 sections, these being the peaks of Punta Penia (3,343m), Punta Rocca (3,309m), Punta Ombretta (3,230m), and Monte Serauta (3,069m).
Each route is shown on at least 1 photo topo along with a detailed description. Additional information given is vertical height gained, total route length, number of pitches, French grade, UIAA grade, and estimated time to complete the route. In total the guidebook describes more than 5,000 pitches across the 192 routes. A pull out photograph is included that shows the south face of Marmolada in all its glory.
