Description

This is a comprehensive guidebook describing the rock climbing at Mallos de Agüero, Peña Rueba, Foz de Escalete, Castillo de Loarre, and Bentue de Rasal near Huesca in the Aragonese pre-Pyrenees.

These crags surround the famous Riglos area, offering a variety of climbing.  The routes at Mallos de Agüero and Peña Rueba are generally multi-pitch routes on conglomerate rock. These routes are mixture of trad and sport, and are around 100m to 300m long, with grades from F4’s to F8’s.  Whilst the routes at Foz de Escalete, Castillo de Loarre, and Bentue de Rasal are generally single pitch sport routes on limestone rock, with grades from F6’s to F8’s.  The guidebook also includes a few Via Ferratas routes that offer a great day’s adventure.

All the routes are shown on details colour topos along with a short description.  For the multi-pitch routes there is information on what trad gear is required (if any) along with descent information.  For each crag/sector there is an approach map along with QR code for the parking area.  Symbols are used to show approach and descent time, style of climbing to be found, when the crag is in the sun, and how good the bolting is.
