Description

This is the comprehensive rock climbing guidebook for Leonidio, a small town on the east coast of the Peloponnese peninsula in Greece.  Leonidio is surrounded by beautiful limestone rock formations off all different colours and shades, making a perfect climbing destination in Greece, with routes across a wide range of grades.  It also describes the sport climbing at Kyparissi that is situated to the south of Leonidio.

This Leonidio and Kyparissi guidebook describes over 3,000 bolted single pitch routes across a wide range of grades in 103 sectors and 6 main areas.  Also included are 49 multi-pitch routes, mainly between 100 and 200m long.  All the routes are shown on colour photo topos along with route length.  At the start of each sector, there are GPS co-ordinates, an approach map, and access information.  Symbols then indicate the style of climbing, altitude, crag orientation, approach time, plus a table listing number of routes at each grade.

Published in November 2024 (updated 4th edition, with more than 100 routes than the previous edition) this guidebook is in English text throughout and includes many action photographs. There is also information regarding the climate, wildlife, how to get there, accommodation, suggestions for rest days, access to crags and the history of climbing around Leonidio.  Published by a local cooperative called Panjika, the majority of the profit will benefit local sustainable projects.  The guidebook comes with a convenient separate booklet for the introductory pages to reduce the overall weight of the guidebook.

Number of pages is 512, plus 72 for the separate booklet.
Size is 150mm x 210mm (A5).
