Description
This guidebook describes 9 bouldering regions in the central, western region of Spain. They are all located in the western Gredos Mountains (220km from Madrid), with an average altitude of 1,100m. The town of Candelario is the centre of the climbing with the closest town being Bejar. The 9 areas covered are La Dehesa, Agua Dulce, El Puertecito (La Muela), El Travieso, Pena de la Cruz, Valdesangil, Vallejera, La Hoya and Becedas. All the bouldering is on excellent granite rock with plenty of overhanging problems, generally on edges and crimps, although some enjoyable crack climbing and slabby moves can also be found.
The guidebook covers more than 2,500 boulder problems, all of which are shown on colour photo topos. There are also boulder maps for each sector, with Fontainebleau grades used throughout. For each area there are location maps and approach information.
