Gottardo Bouldering Guidebook and Topo

Description

This is a definitive guidebook covering the granite bouldering along the Gottardo Pass in the Ticino region of southeast Switzerland.  It also includes the smaller bouldering areas of Schollenen and Goschenen.  In total the guidebook covers 29 sectors and over 2,000 boulder problems across a wide range of grades.

Gottardo is another 'must-visit' venue for keen boulderers due to easy access and the excellent quality of the rock.  Coupled with being at an altitude of over 2,000m, it makes a particularly pleasant location during the hot summer days.

All the problems are shown on photo topos, with symbols indicating the style of the problem, such as if it is a sit start, or bad landing.  At the start of each sector there is a location map, plus extensive boulder overview maps with GPS co-ordinates for key boulders.  Also included is a bar chart providing an overview of the number of problems in each grade range.

Published in 2025 this guidebook is in Italian, German, and English text throughout.  The introductory pages at the start of the guidebook provide a flavour of the type of bouldering found at Chironico and lots of information for the visiting climber.
