Description
This is a comprehensive guidebook (topo) for the deep water soloing (DWS) found on the Luštica Peninsula in southwestern Montenegro, near Tivat. This rugged coastline provides towering limestone cliffs rising directly from the Adriatic Sea that are perfect for deep water soloing.
There are 2 DWS crags with the largest developed area called Myth Crag, along with a smaller area called Blue Crag. Many of routes are safe with low cruxes with clean falls into deep water and are easily accessible via paddle boards.
The best time of year to go Deep Water Soloing is from late May to early October, when the Adriatic Sea is warm and the weather is stable. During these months the sea temperature usually ranges from 22 to 27 degrees Celsius, allowing for long climbing sessions and pleasant falls into the sea.
All the routes are shown on colour photo topos, along with a French sport grade and a Safety (S) grade. The S grades range from S0 (safe and low commitment; low cruxes with clean, deep-water falls) to S2 (high and committing; potential for ledges or shallow water – accurate falls essential). Symbols are used to indicate to style of climbing to be found, height of the routes, depth of the water, orientation and approach time. QR codes are given for the parking area and the sectors.
