Description
This is a comprehensive guidebook covering the sport climbing and rock climbing around Cuneo including the crags of Andonno, Cornaletto, Pian Bernardo, and Casterino. Cuneo is located near the French border in the foothills of the Alps, and only 90km south of Turin. To the south and west of Cuneo are a series of beautiful valleys that provide mainly single pitch sport routes.
The rock is predominantly limestone, though in some of the areas the rock type is either Gneiss or Quartzite. This area is ideal for climbers of all abilities, with plenty of routes across a wide range of grades. Due to the altitude and orientation of the different crags it is possible to climb here throughout the year. The guidebook covers 63 different areas and details thousands of routes with over 300 routes at Andonno alone.
All the routes are shown on colour topos with French grades used throughout. For each area there is a location map and access information. Symbols are then used to indicate altitude, orientation of the sun, the beauty of the crag, how well it is bolted, how popular it is, how good the parking, if it is child friendly and the type of rock. QR codes are also given for the parking areas.
Published by Versante Sud in October 2025, this guidebook is in Italian throughout, but a large amount of information is conveyed by symbols.
