Aladaglar Rock Climbing Guidebook
Description
This guidebook describes all the sport climbing to be found at the Aladaglar area of the Taurus Mountains in Turkey. The three main sport climbing areas are the limestone crags at Cimbar Valley and Pinarbasi Canyon, plus the conglomerate crags in the Kazikli Valley. Also included are some big wall alpine style routes on the mountains such as Demirkazik and the famous Parmakkaya pinnacle. These multi-pitch routes are up to 650m long, with many routes between 200m and 400m long. In total there are over 450 sport routes and 65 multi-pitch routes are described in this guidebook, along with 12 of the best trekking routes, and 8 of the best ski touring routes.
The start of each sport climbing area is a location map, and a general description of the rock climbing to be found at each crag. All of the sport routes are shown on colour photo topos, with French grades, route length and the number of bolts.
For the longer alpine style routes these are described individually along with the best approach and where to camp. All the routes are shown on either colour photo topos or hand drawn topos. The majority of these routes are bolted but some Trad gear is required, which is detailed in the description.
