It is a selective guidebook describing the very best rock climbs and mountaineering routes around Chamonix and Mont Blanc. In total 690 routes are described that are shown on superb colour photo topos, detailed maps and comprehensive route descriptions. It includes more than 100 routes than the previous edition and the crucial text information has been updated and revised to reflect the current glacier conditions.
This guidebook really does cover all aspects of climbing and mountaineering in Chamonix, from topping out on Mont Blanc, spectacular peaks, huge towers and spikes, classic long ridges, to intimidating north faces and valley sport climbing. All the major areas are covered from the Glacier du Tour, Glacier d'Argentière, Glacier de Talèfre, Grandes Jorasses to the Aiguilles towers and spikes, Aiguille du Midi and the Aiguilles Rouges. In addition, it covers 8 Chamonix valley sport climbing areas.
