Description

This Cicerone walking guidebook describes 30-day walks throughout the New Forest National Park in Hampshire and Wiltshire. The routes vary from 3 to 10 miles long that explore ancient woodland, heather-clad heath and dramatic coastline, often on well-defined tracks and paths. There are walks for all abilities that can be combined to make up longer challenges.

For each route there is a clear description that is illustrated with OS mapping at a scale of 1:25,000 and colour photographs. Refreshment stops like pubs and tea rooms are included.

All walks offer a good chance of seeing wildlife, including the famous New Forest ponies. The New Forest is Britain's smallest National Park that has been protected and nurtured by ancient laws for over 900 years. It is the largest remaining area of lowland heath in Europe that is easily reached from Southampton, Bournemouth and Salisbury.

Published in February 2020, this is the revised 2nd edition of the Cicerone Walking in the New Forest Guidebook
