This Cicerone walking guidebook covers The Lea Valley Walk from Luton to the Thames in the heart of London. The 53 mile path from Leagrave, near Luton to East India Dock opposite Greenwich where it joins the Thames Path, with an alternative finish at Limehouse and an optional tour of the Olympic Park.

The Lea Valley Walk is completely waymarked and is suitable for walkers of all abilities. The routes is split into nine stages, with suggestion for three, four, five and six day itineraries to complete the whole route. For each stage there is a detailed description accompanied by clear OS mapping.

This fine and varied walk traces the river as it passes through Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire towards the bustle of London. It takes in historical towns and villages, stately homes and castles, including Waltham Abbey and Hertford Castle, Luton Hoo, Brocket Park, Hatfield and Ware.
