Description

This is a comprehensive bouldering guidebook for Sněžník, located in northern part of the Czech Republic near the town of Děčín.  The guidebook describes more than 1,800 problems across a wide range of grades (from easy to Fb 8b+) in 10 different sectors.

The bouldering at Sněžník is located around a 1.5km long sandstone table mountain, with boulders located on both sides.  The sandstone rock is hard, and its grain size varies throughout the different sectors.  The area offers a variety of all different size of boulders from high and overhanging to low and technical problems.

The main bouldering season is from March to November, with the best time of the year being the autumn.  During the warm summer months there are plenty of shady areas within the trees.  Though on a much smaller scale Sněžník is considered the Fontainebleau of the east due to its excellent sandstone boulders in a wooded environment.

All the problems are shown on colour photo topos, with sit starts shown as appropriate.  For each sector there is a boulder map, a general description of the bouldering in the area, GPS co-ordinates for the parking, and access information.

This Sněžník bouldering guidebook is written in Czech and English throughout.
