Skye Sea-Cliffs and Outcrops Guidebook
Description
This is the comprehensive guidebook covering the rock climbing on the sea cliffs and outcrops on the magical Isle of Skye. The Skye coast provides many endless opportunities for climbing, often with far better weather than in the mountains. Dramatic vertical columns separated by soaring jamming cracks, fuggy sandstone overhangs, and remote sea-stacks have all become popular with climbers who are either visiting this area in its own right or escaping the wet mountains and the Cuillin.
In total 10 major areas are described with 55 major crags providing hundreds of routes for all tastes and difficulties. All the routes are shown on colour photo topos, along with a description. At the back of the guidebook there are separate indexes for bouldering and sea stacks available in this area. This guidebook is a great companion volume to the 2011 guide to the Cuillin Mountains of Skye, from the SMC.
Published in 2012 by the SMC, this is a modern guidebook that is user friendly, and published in a well-presented format. A page marker ribbon to ease the location of climbs is provided.
