Portland Rock Climbing Guidebook
Description
This is the comprehensive guidebook describing all the sport climbing, trad climbing, deep water soloing, and loads of bouldering at Portland and Lulworth Cove in Dorset on the south coast of England. Portland is one of the largest sport climbing areas in England, and as such now has its own dedicated guidebook. The A5 landscape format of the guidebook is designed to show topos and routes in one open spread, which works well with Portland’s wide open cliff faces.
All the routes are shown on clear colour photo topos, along with a good description of the climbing for each route plus the usual star rating. The different lines denote if they have fully fixed gear or if traditional equipment is required. There is also loads of information on where to stay in the area, local gear shops, where to eat and drink plus user friendly colour coded pages to make finding each area or crag straightforward.
Published in September 2008 by the Climbers Club, this guidebook is in full colour throughout including a fantastic set of action photographs.
