Description
This map covers the walking and trekking trails around Plitvice Lakes National Park (Nacionalni Park Plitvička Jezera). The map includes information (English and Croatian text) about the various waterfalls and lakes that are a feature of the National Park.
Plitvice Lakes is one of the oldest and largest national parks in Croatia and was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979. It is located in the mountainous karst region of central Croatia, on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Plitvice Lakes is a chain of 16 turquoise lakes connected by more than 90 waterfalls, hemmed in by densely forested hills. The water rushing down from the upper lakes via a sequence of waterfalls represents some of the most eye-catching scenery in mainland Croatia. There are many well organised and easy to follow paths, which coupled with regular shuttle buses and ferries between the main trailheads, make this a great place to go walking.
Published by Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (map number 15) the map legend/key is in Croatian and English text.
Map Scale is 1:25,000.
ISBN is 9789537527716.
