Description

The Lancashire bouldering guidebook is the first definitive guidebook describing the bouldering to be found in Lancashire and Greater Manchester. The guidebook is split into 3 distinct areas, which are the Bowland Fells, the southern quarries and the East Lancashire moors. Bowland Fells is the area to the west of Lancaster and to north of Preston, and includes the classic venues of Craig Y Longridge and Thorn Crag. The southern quarries area between Blackburn and Horwich and includes the classic venues of Brownstones and the Wilton quarries. The East Lancashire moors to the north of Bury and Rochdale has many boulder problems that have never been documented before, and therefore are a great place to go exploring.

In total 47 different gritstone venues are covered in the guidebook detailing bouldering problems across all grades. There are many problems at easy and amenable grades all the way up to Font 8B problems. All the boulder problems are shown on colour photo topos with Font grades used throughout, except for the long traverses where French technical grades are used.

Publish in October 2014, there are access information and location maps for each area, and includes many excellent action photographs.
