Description
This is a definitive guidebook covering the Highland outcrop crags south of Inverness and the Great Glen. It covers a wide area with around 2,500 routes and includes the popular Glen Nevis, Craig a Barns, Binnein Shuas, Creag Dubh, and the Arrochar Alps crags.
The guidebook is split into 25 areas, which are Glen Nevis, Dunkeld crags (including Craig a Barns), Weem crags, Sma’ Glen, Glen Lednock, Balquhidder, Arrochar Alps, Mid Argyll crags, Mull of Kintyre, Ardgour, Ardnamurchan, Loch Linnhe, Glenfinnan crags, Ardnish area, Mallaig crags, Binnein Shuas, Dirc Mhor, Creag Dubh, Kingussie crags, Farrletter crag, Huntly’s cave, Duntelchaig, Brin Rock, Stac Gorm, and Ashie Fort.
All the routes are shown on colour photo topos along with a short description. For each area are detailed maps and approach information. Also included is an impressive aerial shot of the Polldubh crags in Glen Nevis showing the location of 38 separate buttresses.
Reprinted in 2022 (initially printed in 2016) by the Scottish Mountaineering Cllub, it is in full colour throughout, including many inspiring action photographs. The clear format is modern and user-friendly, including flaps on the cover that double as reference information and page markers, and colour-indexed tabs for quick location of crags of interest.
