Description

This Clwyd Limestone guidebook gives comprehensive coverage of all the routes in the Eglwyseg Valley to the north of Llangollen, and a number of outlying venues near Wrexham and Oswestry. This area in Mid-Wales has become a popular location with a number of either sport or trad venues to choose from on great limestone rock. The guidebook covers a wide range of grades in both the sport and trad styles, and therefore it will have something to entice the vast majority of climbers of all abilities.

The guidebook covers 18 separate crags and is split into 4 distinct areas these being; the Eglwyseg Valley and Trevor Area near Llangollen; Ruthin and Mold area further north of Llangollen and close to Wrexham; and the outlying areas to the south of Llangollen and across the border into Wales.
The Eglwyseg Valley crags are World's End, Craig Arthur, Twilight Zone, Pinfold Area, Monk's Buttress, and Dinbren.
The Trever area crags are Trevor Quarry, Independence Quarry, and Ruabon Quarry.
The Ruthin and Mold crags are Pot Hole Quarry, Maeshafn Quarry, Devil's Gorge, Ruthin Escarpment, Denbigh Castle Quarry and Minera Quarry.
The Outlying crags near Oswestry are Llanymynech Quarry, Pandy Outcrop, and Pontesford Rocks.

The guidebook describes over 1,300 routes that are shown on good quality photo topos along with a description. Each crag has a location map, access information, and GPS co-ordinates for the parking areas. In addition there is a description of the style of climbing to be found along with typical weather conditions.
