Description
The Calcare di Marca is a comprehensive guidebook describing the sport climbing found in the Marches region of Italy, which is a popular holiday destination. The climbing is located in the Umbria-Marches Apennines that are close to the towns of Ancona, Urbino, Pesaro, and Ascoli Piceno.
The guidebook covers 65 different crags including Furlo, Cingoli, Falcioni, Pioraco and San Giorgio amongst others. The climbing covered is mainly single pitch sport routes with a mixture of styles and there are routes for everyone across a wide range of grades.
All routes are shown on clear colour topos, along with their height and a short description. At the start of each crag there is a location map and QR code for the parking. Symbols are used to indicate altitude, the orientation of the crag, approach time, how popular it is, the quality of the bolting, and the general popularity of the crag. A table shows the number of routes for each grade.
Published in December 2025 (revised 3rd edition) this guidebook is in Italian text throughout, but a large amount of information is conveyed by symbols.
