Hueco Tanks Bouldering Guidebook – North Mountain

This definitive guidebook covers the bouldering at the North Mountain area of Hueco Tanks – the self-guided part of the park.  It covers 850 problems at North Mountain, which is the only area where you can boulder at Hueco Tanks on your own.

Hueco Tanks is considered the best bouldering area in the United States, with its ironrock producing unique narrow necked spherical pocket holds. Even with its limited access arrangement the bouldering at Hueco Tanks is stunning, and the rock formations just beg to be climbed.

The guidebook covers 850 problems across the whole grade spectrum from V0 to V15.  All the problems are shown on boulder maps and colour photo topos, along with a short description.  There is also plenty of information on how to navigate your way through the park.

Also included for the guided-only areas (West Mountain, East Mountain, and the East Spur), there is a 20+ page section describing the best problems.

Published in March 2020 the guidebook untangles Hueco’s regulations, explains on how to book reservations and tours, describes tour rules, and defines where it is permitted to climb and what areas are closed.

This modern guidebook includes around 200 new problems, and Jason Kehl has put in an incredible effort to update Matt Wilder's original Hueco Tanks guidebook. Also $1 is donated to the Climbers of Hueco Tanks Coalition for every book sold.
