Rab, Krk, Lošinj and Cres are some of the largest of the northern Croatia islands, and they are great places to go walking and hiking. Krk Island is Croatia’s largest island, connected to the mainland by a toll bridge, and the highest point is Obzova Mountain at 569m.

Cres Island is mainly covered with dense forests and has a rocky coastline, with hidden coves and hilltop towns. There over 300km of marked walking, hiking and biking trails all over Cres that take you isolated hamlets, peaks, caves and beaches.
In the centre of the island is a large fresh water lake, called Lake Vrana that is one of the deepest in Eastern Europe. In the north of Cres is the Porozina region that includes Tramuntana and the Beli Eko Centre where there are 7 eco-trails and is a griffon vulture protection centre.

Just off the coast of Pula is the Brijuni National Park that is a collection of 14 very green islands.
